Búvár Túrós - we may translate it as Dipper Cottage Cheese... Does it sound interesting? I'd say so!

Welcome again!

This is my 4th dessert, and I had a very hard time making up my mind of what to make! But, what are Grandmas for? They can help a lot! So, she advised me to make this particular dessert.
I used to love this when I was a child, and I never actually tried making it, so this is a first!

It should look like the picture below:

The ingredients are the following:
For the sponge:
- 1 and a half dl oil
- 2 whole eggs
- 25 dkg sugar
- 35 dkg flour
- 2 small 'kefir' which is a sort of yoghurt that contains yeast, which makes it a little sour. It originates from the Northern part of the Caucasus.
- 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda

For the cottage cheese:
- 500 g cottage cheese
- 2 whole eggs
- 2 packs of vanilla sugar
- 12 dkg 'Rama' margarine
- 2 tablespoons of sugar

Step 1:
- First, we need to butter and flour a bigger oven pan. And preheat the oven to 180 Celsius.

Step 2:
- We mix all the ingredients of the sponge together.

It should look like this, when mixed:

When that's done, we put it into the pan, and smoothen it, so it covers the bottom of the pan.

Step 3:
- We can turn to the cottage cheese!
- We need to mix the ingredients of the cottage cheese 'cream.'

It should look like this when mixed:

NO WORRIES, IT SHOULD LOOK SOMEWHAT YELLOW... :)

Step 4:
- We need to spread the cottage cheese over the sponge. It looks pretty random, and it should look like that. It reminded me of cows, and their patches. :)

Now, when this is all done, we should put it into the oven and bake it for about 15-20 minutes. Depending on your oven, and how it bakes. But don't let the cottage cheese turn dark, I mean don't burn it!

When it's done, it should look like this! At least, mine turned out to be really good, I thought! :)

And now you can see why it's called 'dipper.' The cottage cheese went from the top to the bottom. :)
Fun, huh?
Just kidding, but I thought it was nice in a way. :) First, I didn't understand why it was given such a name.

And now it's done, so JÓ ÉTVÁGYAT as we would say Good Appetite! :)

Please give me some feedback if you try it, and tell me how it went! I hope you all liked it. ;)
It's easy and fast, done in about an hour or even less than that. Good luck!

This is how it's made: Fake Sport Chocolate Bars

Another very Hungarian 'dessert', if we may call it that! It is a piece of chocolate in reality.  The original looks like the one below. You may buy it at any store, but why buy it if you can make it at home? ;)
It's simple, it's easy, it's fast...

The ingredients are the following:

- 1 package vanilla sugar
- 2 dl milk
- 4 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 square RAMA margarine
- 20 dkg sugar
- rum aroma as much as you like it

- 1/2 kg cracked biscuit
- 1 whole bar of dark or plain chocolate (will be melted to be put on top)

Step 1:
- Let's butter an oven pan.

Step 2:
- We heat the milk, just a little. It does not have to be hot, but lukewarm.

Step 3:
- Then we add all the ingredients to the lukewarm milk.(Leave the biscuits for last!)

Step 4:
- When that's done, we can mix the biscuits into the chocolate cream. It should look like the photo below:

Step 5:
- We need to melt the chocolate now!

- While it melts, we should 'paddle' the dough into the oven pan.
Step 6:
- When the chocolate melts, we need to put it on top of the dough. Be thorough!

Step 7:
- When all the previous steps are completed, we should put the goody into the fridge, just until it becomes solid. About an hour is usually enough. ;)

-When it becomes solid, we can slice it up and offer it to our guests! They'll  love it!

Good Job! You're done! :)
It only took about 20 minutes to make it, and in an hour it could be served! Is it worth going to the store then? I don't think so...

A Little Italian - Zuppa Inglese

Hello Guys!

Here is my second choice of desserts! It is an Italian dessert, although its name might sound like it's an English soup or something. IT IS ITALIAN, and according to the cook book, it is very much liked in Italy.

Let's see how it's made!

We need the following ingredients:
- 5 dl milk
- 1 vanilla stick
- 4 egg yolk
-12,5 dkg sugar

- 2 tablespoons of flour

- 30 dkg sponge or you can use 'ladyfinger'
- 0,8 dl rum or use aroma if you wish
- 3 dkg dark chocolate
- 5 dkg chopped, roasted almond

Step 1:
- We need to butter a fairly big glass bowl.
- Put one layer of ladyfingers on the bottom of the bowl, and sprinkle the ladyfingers with the rum.

Step 2:

- We need to slice the vanilla stick and scrape out what is in the inside.

Step 3:
- We should boil the vanilla stick, the inside of the vanilla stick and the milk together.

Step 4:
- While the milk boils together with the vanilla, we mix the sugar, flour and the egg yolks.
- When the flour, sugar and egg yolks are mixed together, we take out the actual vanilla stick from the boiled milk.

- Then, we mix the vanilla milk with the sugary cream and stir it until it becomes a thick cream. (still on the oven, so it stays warm)

Step 5:
- We've already put down one layer of ladyfingers and sprinkled rum over it. Now it's time to put 1/3 of the cream on top of the ladyfingers.
- Then, we need to repeat this process of layering two more times.
- When it's done, we can file the chocolate on top of the last layer of vanilla cream. And we can also add the almond as decoration.

MINE TURNED OUT LIKE THIS! I left out the almonds, because the family is not a big fan... so we'll see how it tastes in a couple of hours.

ACCORDING TO THE RECIPE: We need to cool the dessert for about 4 hours, so when it's done we can put it into the fridge! And in about 4 hours time : BUONO APPETITO!

/I honestly have no idea how to say it in Italian, but gave it my best try. :) /

PS: I hope you liked this recipe also. Please keep me updated if you try any of these!
Thank you!

PSS: Also, it was my first try at this dessert... so I hope it turned out well....

How To Make A Túró Rudi Cake

If you live in Hungary, you MUST know what a Túró Rudi is.
If you don't, shame on you! It is the most amazing Hungarian dessert, that has ever existed.(since the end of the 1960s)
They sell more than 400 million Túró Rudis in a year.

(for measurements, see the introductory blog)
You need the following ingredients to make a Túró Rudi Cake:

For the sponge:
- 2 eggs
- 6 dkg sugar
- 1 dkg unsweetened cocoa powder
- 6 dkg flour
- 1/2 coffee-spoon baking powder
- a little nutella cream

For the cream:
- a level tablespoon of gelatin
- 25 dkg powdered sugar
- 50 dkg cottage cheese
- a package vanilla sugar
- a lemon
- 1 dl sour cream
- 2 1/2 dl cool cream (it will be whipped)

On top of it:
- unsweetened cocoa powder

STEPS:
 #1:
- First of all, we need to preheat the oven to 175 C°
- Next, we need to find a cake pan with about a 24 cm diameter
- We need to put butter and then a little flour on the bottom of the pan

#2:
- For the sponge, we need to mix the flour with the baking powder, and we should add the cocoa powder.
- In a different bowl, we should mix the eggs with the sugar, using a mixer.
- Using a wooden spoon, we should carefully stir the cocoa-flour mixture into the egg and sugar mix.
- We should put this dough into the pan, and bake it for approximately 12 minutes.
- When it's done, we should let it cool.
- When the sponge cooled down, we may put the nutella on top of it, just as much as you prefer. (I don't use much of it, because it will be sweet enough)

#3:
- For the cream, we heat 1 dl water and mix it with a level table spoon of gelatin and stir it until it dissolves. DO NOT BOIL!

-We mix the powdered sugar with 3-4 table spoons of hot water, and stir it until it becomes a smooth cream.
- Then, we add the cottage cheese, the vanilla sugar, a table spoon of lemon juice, the sour cream, the cooled down gelatin, and the filing of one lemon zest.
- We need to use a mixer to blend these ingredients.
- We whip the cream, and carefully add the whipped cream to the cottage cheese mix.

#4:
-  When the cream is done, we put it on top of the nutella coating on top of the sponge.
- And when the cake is put together, we hint unsweetened cocoa powder on top of it, and then we put the cake into the fridge for an entire day.
- During this time, the cake will chill. And it will be perfect when we want to cut it for serving!

This is how it should look! It is delicious, so I advise you to try it at home and it will sweeten your day!

Good Luck! :)
